에 관한 최신 회사 뉴스 Full Range of Coated Steel Pipes Launched for the European Market: FBE, 3LPE, Liquid Epoxy, Polyurethane and Galvanized

— A leading manufacturer of steel pipe solutions today announced the launch of its complete range of coated steel pipes for the European market, with factory-applied corrosion protection systems produced and tested in accordance with the European coating standards EN 10288, EN 10289, EN 10290, EN 10310 and EN 10240, on seamless and welded substrates delivered under EN 10216-1, EN 10217-1 and EN 10208.

Corrosion remains the single largest cause of premature pipeline retirement, and European utilities, EPC contractors and water authorities increasingly specify factory-applied coatings as standard practice for buried and submerged steel piping. The new range responds to this demand with every major coating technology from a single source, allowing project engineers to match the coating system precisely to soil conditions, media chemistry, operating temperature and design life.

"One coating cannot serve every environment — that is why we built the full ladder, from thin-film epoxy for potable water up to three-layer polypropylene for offshore lines," said a company spokesperson. "Each system is applied after Sa 2½ blast cleaning, verified by 100% holiday detection, and documented with EN 10204 3.1 certificates covering both the steel and the coating."

The European Coating Standards Behind the Range
  • EN 10288 — external two-layer extruded polyethylene (2LPE) coatings for buried and submerged pipelines
  • EN 10289 — external liquid-applied epoxy coatings, in temperature Types 1/2/3 (40/60/80 °C) and thickness classes A/B/C (400/800/1500 µm)
  • EN 10290 — external liquid-applied polyurethane coatings for mechanically demanding service
  • EN 10310 — internal and external polyamide powder coatings, the EN system closest to the international "plastic-coated steel pipe" concept
  • EN 10301 — internal epoxy friction-reduction linings for gas transmission pipelines
  • EN 10298 — internal cement mortar linings for large-diameter water mains
  • EN 10240 / ISO 1461 — hot-dip galvanized coatings for atmospheric and structural service
  • EN 12068 / ISO 21809 — field-joint and repair systems, and international 3LPE / FBE specifications
Coating Models and Their Application Scenarios
Coated Pipe Model Protection System Governing Standard Typical Application Scenarios
FBE Coated Steel Pipe Fusion-bonded epoxy powder, 300–600 µm ISO 21809-2 / CSA Z245.20; liquid variants per EN 10289 Oil & gas transmission pipelines with medium-to-high operating temperatures; river and road crossings requiring bending flexibility; riser and process piping in refineries and petrochemical plants.
3LPE Coated Steel Pipe FBE primer + adhesive + extruded PE topcoat, 2.5–4 mm ISO 21809-1; EN 10288 (2LPE variant) Buried water and sewage trunk mains in rocky soils; onshore oil & gas pipelines through high-water-table terrain; always paired with cathodic protection, with EN 12068 field-joint systems at girth welds.
3LPP Coated Steel Pipe FBE primer + adhesive + extruded PP topcoat ISO 21809-1 Higher-temperature offshore and hot-service lines (PP tolerates ~110 °C vs ~80 °C for PE); submarine outfalls and offshore platform piping subject to abrasion and impact.
Liquid Epoxy Coated Steel Pipe Two-pack liquid epoxy, internal and/or external EN 10289 (external); EN 10301 / AWWA C213 (internal) Drinking water pipelines with certified potable-contact linings (KTW, WRAS, ACS); natural gas lines with internal friction-reduction coating; fire protection mains and refinery pipework with complex geometry.
Plastic-Coated Steel Pipe (Epoxy/Polyamide Powder) Thermosetting epoxy or polyamide powder, internal + external EN 10310 The all-round model for potable water transmission and distribution (smooth, tuberculation-free bore); fire sprinkler and hydrant networks; marine, port and dock installations; mine slurry and abrasive wastewater lines.
Polyurethane Coated Steel Pipe Liquid polyurethane (PUR), fast-curing EN 10290 Offshore splash-zone piping exposed to waves, debris and handling damage; field application on bends, fittings and transitions where plant powder coating is impractical.
Cement Mortar Lined Steel Pipe Spun-in sand/cement lining, 6–12 mm EN 10298 Large-diameter water transmission mains (DN 500 and above) with soft or aggressive water chemistry; sewage and irrigation trunk lines designed for decades of low-maintenance service.
Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Pipe Zinc immersion coating, sacrificial protection EN 10240 / ISO 1461 Above-ground utility and structural pipework: handrails, cable conduits, HVAC installations; fire sprinkler piping where specified; not intended for continuous buried immersion without supplementary barriers.
Base Pipe Materials and Complete Piping Packages

The full coating range is available on substrates from P235TR1/TR2 and P265GH (EN 10216-1 / EN 10217-1) for water and heating networks, through L245 / L290 / L360 (EN 10208 / ISO 3183) for oil & gas transmission, to S235JRH / S355J2H structural hollow sections (EN 10219) for piling and marine construction. For corrosive or elevated-temperature media, substrates can be upgraded to alloy grades such as 16Mo3 or P11/P22 per EN 10216-2 with temperature-qualified coating systems.

Coated pipes are supplied as complete packages with matching EN 10253-2 butt-weld fittings, field-joint materials to EN 12068, and pipe supports and hangers engineered for EN 13480 piping systems — giving EPC contractors a single-source, single-certificate chain from raw pipe to installed line.

Quality Assurance and Documentation
  • Surface preparation to EN ISO 8501-1 Sa 2½ prior to every coating application
  • 100% high-voltage holiday (pinhole) detection on production pipes
  • Adhesion, impact, bending and cathodic disbondment testing per the applicable EN coating standard
  • EN 10204 Type 3.1 material certificates covering both steel substrate and coating system; Type 3.2 with third-party inspection (TÜV, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, SGS) on request
  • European drinking-water contact approvals available for internal epoxy and polyamide linings
  • Coating thickness verification against EN 10289 classes A/B/C or project specification
